To keep your children healthy, it is important to bring them in for regular checkups. We recommend that you book online, call our office, or email Dr. Benzel at ibenzel@advocaredoctors.com for an appoinment that fits your family's needs. For patients that are transferring from another healthcare provider, please have your child’s growth charts and immunization records faxed to our offfice (877-553-1385) prior to your visit.
During the first few months of life you will get to know your pediatrician very well! Your initial office visit will typically occur 2-3 days after your hospital discharge. After your first visit you will likely need to come in for a "weight check" in 1 week to make sure your new baby is nursing/feeding well. Wellness visits will be at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24 and 30 months. During your wellness visits with us your child will receive their age appropriate vaccines, assessment of their growth and developmental milestones. We mean for you and your child to be as comfortable as possible. We hope you will leave every visit feeling that your questions were adequately answered. There will be plenty of time to discuss topics such as parenting strategies, food introduction, and most importantly sleep training techniques.
Children over age 3 should have annual exams. These annual exams help ensure your child is reaching important developmental milestones in learning, behavior, emotional state, social interaction and other areas of life that are integral to normal and healthy functioning, both during childhood and adulthood. In short, making sure your child has an annual physical is one of the most important steps you can take toward helping him or her enjoy a healthier life for many years to come.
